Jey Uso has had a landmark year in 2024, establishing himself as a top singles competitor in WWE. His standout moments include high-profile feuds with WWE’s elite, a memorable Intercontinental Championship win, and a marquee match against his brother Jimmy Uso at WrestleMania 40.
However, one accolade continues to elude him: the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Jey Uso Reflects on His 2024 Breakout Year
During an interview on Cheap Heat, Uso reflected on the significance of becoming a champion and how his success in 2024 fueled his confidence.
“Yeah, man, it just puts a stamp on you,” Uso shared. “If you’re a wrestler, you want to hold a damn WWE Championship one time, a World Heavyweight Championship one time. I want to hold that s**t. I ain’t ever thought about being a champion like that until I got the IC Title, man, until ‘24 popped off the way it did. It built my confidence. It made me believe, hell yeah, I could be the face, Uce.”
Aiming for the Big One
Looking ahead to 2025, Uso is clear about his aspirations. He’s determined to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and is ready to challenge anyone standing in his way.
“Yeah, I want the title. I’ll take it off of anybody, just give me the shot,” he said. “Gunther, whoever it is, Cody Rhodes, we can run it. I’m telling you, I’m gonna get the big one. No one believes that, just like they doubted me the whole time. It’s all good. I’m used to that. It’s just fuel to the fire. But I’m gonna get that, I’m gonna get it. I’m putting it out there right now.”
