Last Tuesday night’s episode of WWE NXT featured a buzzworthy moment as three top independent wrestling stars were spotted in the crowd. Among those in attendance were Rhio, Tate Mayfairs, and Molly Spartan, three well-known names in the British pro wrestling scene.
Independent Stars Visit WWE NXT
According to Fightful Select, multiple sources in WWE NXT and the British wrestling circuit confirmed that the trio was visiting the show. Rhio, the current PROGRESS Women’s Champion, is in the U.S. as part of her tour, utilizing a visa provided by PROGRESS Wrestling.
Rhio has also participated in a WWE tryout, fueling speculation about her potential future with the company. She previously appeared at the WWE Clash at the Castle premium live event in Glasgow in June, a sign of WWE’s interest in her.
Tate Mayfairs, a regular in PROGRESS Wrestling and a former member of the NXT UK roster, was also present. Mayfairs has recently made waves with an appearance on AEW Collision earlier this year.
Molly Spartan, who has competed in promotions like ICW, IGPW, and TNT, was another standout attendee. Spartan is married to WWE NXT star Wolfgang, further strengthening her ties to the company.
WWE’s Interest in European Talent
While WWE has shown interest in European wrestlers, there are no confirmed offers or ID deals extended to Rhio, Mayfairs, or Spartan. However, Rhio’s continued visibility at WWE events, including Clash at the Castle, suggests that she remains on WWE’s radar.
AEW Connections
Both Rhio and Mayfairs have also crossed paths with AEW this year. Rhio competed at AEW All In, while Mayfairs made an appearance on AEW Collision, showcasing their ability to work across major promotions.
What’s Next?
This visit by independent talents could signal WWE’s renewed efforts to scout top-tier European wrestlers, especially in the wake of NXT UK’s closure and the upcoming NXT Europe launch. Fans will eagerly await updates on whether these appearances will lead to future signings.
Stay tuned for more news as it develops.
