The Hurt Syndicate Segment
In this segment, The Hurt Syndicate, led by MVP alongside Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, showcased their dominance and ambitions in AEW. MVP delivered a confident promo, likening Lashley and Benjamin to Chicago sports legends Walter Payton and Michael Jordan while mocking Swerve Strickland for declining their offer. Highlights of Lashley defeating Swerve at Full Gear were shown to reinforce their credibility. MVP proclaimed Lashley as AEW’s top athlete and emphasized their goal of winning titles and turning them into wealth. He announced Shelton Benjamin as a competitor in the Continental Classic, highlighting their commitment to causing “absolute misery” and hurting opponents.
The rules for the AEW Continental Classic were then displayed, emphasizing a 20-minute time limit, point-based scoring, and no interference allowed at ringside.
First Match
Continental Classic Blue League: Shelton Benjamin defeated Mark Briscoe by pinfall.
Mercedes Mone Interview
Mercedes Mone, the TBS Champion & NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, was interviewed on the stage by Tony Schiavone. Mone was joined by Kamille, who had her left arm in a sling. Tony claimed people thought Mone’s match against Kris Statlander at Full Gear was a match of the year contender and Mone said it was money. Mercedes praised Statlander for being a tough opponent, but Mone proved she was the best. Mone was about to fire Kamille for not getting the job done and Kamille cut her off. Kamille said you can’t fire her because she quits. Kamille walked away, Mone was angry about it and the fans chanted “you deserve it” at Mone.
A video package about Big Boom AJ beating QT Marshall at the Full Gear Zero Hour pre-show. They also showed images of all the media coverage for the match.
Second Match
Chris Jericho defeated Tomohiro Ishii by pinfall and successfully retained his ROH World Championship.
Swerve Strickland Interview By Renee Paquette
Swerve Strickland, with Prince Nana, was interviewed by Renee Paquette. Swerve said he’ll bounce back from his loss and said he has never been hit so hard by somebody the way he got hit Bobby Lashley. Max Caster was laughing in the background, so Swerve wondered what he was laughing about. Max reminded Swerve that he beat him for the Tag Team Titles, called himself the best wrestler alive again and Max mentioned Swerve’s house being put on fire. Swerve tackled Max against the wall and then Swerve hit a running kick to the face of Max. Poor Max Caster was down on the ground holding his nose to sell it.
“Hangman” Adam Page, Jay White, Death Riders, Wheeler Yuta and Jon Moxley Segment
In this chaotic segment, “Hangman” Adam Page’s interview about his AEW World Championship aspirations was interrupted by Jay White, who mocked Page for their past encounters and positioned himself as the top contender. Tensions escalated as PAC from the Death Riders ambushed White.
The chaos continued when Wheeler Yuta attacked White, leading to a brawl involving Page, White, and the Death Riders. Marina Shafir struck Page with a briefcase, while Jon Moxley appeared, choking out White and directing his Death Riders to assault him. PAC delivered a final blow to White using a briefcase containing the AEW World Title. The segment ended with White face down in the ring and Page incapacitated, as the Death Riders asserted their dominance.
Third Match
AEW Continental Classic Gold League: Claudio Castagnoli defeated Ricochet by pinfall.
Adam Cole and MJF Segment
In this segment, Adam Cole, alongside Matt Taven and Mike Bennett of the United Kingdom faction, delivered a fiery promo targeting MJF. Cole expressed his anger over what MJF did to Roderick Strong, vowing to exact revenge and beat MJF mercilessly. The tension heightened when Kyle O’Reilly interrupted, suggesting he should challenge MJF instead. Cole rejected the idea, insisting he wanted to handle MJF himself, but Kyle declared he was doing it for Roderick Strong, not Cole.
The segment took a turn when MJF appeared in a video, casually playing piano and announcing his focus on the upcoming Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal, dismissing the group’s threats. Determined, Cole declared his intention to enter the battle royal, with Kyle following suit. The exchange ended with Cole and Kyle at odds over their plans.
Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis Backstage Interview
Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis were interviewed backstage by Renee Paquette. Callis said they leave no stone unturned while saying they didn’t just beat Will Ospreay, they decimated him and left him in a heap. Kyle bragged about his win over Will. Kyle said that the Continental Classic is another way to prove he’s better than Will and he’ll prove it in the Continental Classic on Saturday’s Collision.
Fourth Match
Jamie Hayter defeated Queen Aminata by pinfall with a Hayterade lariat. This was a semifinal match in the Wrestle Dynasty International Women’s Cup tournament. After the match, the lights went out in the building and a spotlight was by the entrance. Jamie Hayter called out for Julia Hart since there were videos by Julia after Hayter interviews in the past couple of weeks. No sign of Julia.
Mina Shirakawa Interview
Mina Shirakawa was interviewed by Renee Paquette earlier in the day. Mina said she knew the day would come because she was waiting for a long time. Mina said Mariah could do it to her since Mariah did it to Toni Storm. Mina said that this was the real Mariah May. Mina said that May is so selfish and she has to kill anybody that comes close to her. Mina said that if that’s the real Mariah May then she’ll introduce May to the real Mina. Mariah May attacked May from behind with a bottle to the head. May: “I want Mina.” May stood tall over her fallen former friend.
At AEW Dynamite Winter is Coming, Mariah May will defend the AEW Women’s World Title against Mina Shirakawa.
Fifth Match
Brody King defeated Darby Allin by pinfall. In a hard-hitting contest, Brody King overcame Darby Allin in the AEW Continental Classic. Allin landed two Coffin Drops on King outside the ring but failed to capitalize. When Allin attempted another Coffin Drop inside the ring, King countered with a sleeper hold before delivering a devastating Gonzo Bomb to secure the pinfall victory.
After the match, Claudio Castagnoli appeared on the apron holding a steel chair, while King wielded a steel chain in the ring. Claudio eventually dropped the chair and retreated, setting up their announced matchup in the Continental Classic next week.
