WWE
On the October 4, 2024 episode of WWE SmackDown, AJ Styles made his highly anticipated return, kicking off the show in front of a sold-out Nashville crowd. The segment began with Styles reflecting on his recent actions and expressing a desire to rebuild his legacy. However, the moment was interrupted by Carmelo Hayes, who taunted Styles as an “old-timer” and Styles challenged him to a match.
The encounter escalated when LA Knight, the reigning United States Champion, raised the stakes by offering Hayes a shot at his title if he could defeat Styles. This added a competitive edge to the match, making it a must-see moment.
Despite the excitement, the match was cut short when Styles appeared to injure his ankle after a collision in the ring. The referee called the match, resulting in Hayes being declared the winner by default. Hayes will now get a shot at the United States Championship, but his celebration was short-lived as LA Knight hit him with a BFT to close the segment.
AJ Styles was able to walk out of the ring on his own, though he was visibly frustrated and in pain. Fans are hoping for a speedy recovery, and WWE has yet to confirm the extent of his injury.
This dramatic return sets up future storylines, with both Hayes and Knight playing key roles in the upcoming United States Championship picture.
For fans eager to follow the latest updates on AJ Styles’ condition, keep an eye on WWE’s official channels.

CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso Segment
CM Punk kicked off the segment with a heartfelt monologue in Everett, Washington, addressing his recent journey and future ambitions. Reflecting on his War Games and Hell in a Cell matches, Punk expressed clarity about his direction in WWE, teasing potential paths like the Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber. He invited the audience to join him on his journey, asserting that while the road might have obstacles, he holds the necessary favors to reach his goals.
Rollins interrupted with a fiery rebuttal, expressing regret for not attacking Punk earlier. Over the past year, injuries, title defenses, and the Bloodline storyline had kept Rollins occupied, but now, with nothing holding him back, he was ready to settle the score. The bitterness between Rollins and Punk boiled over as Rollins declared his intent to knock Punk down, marking this as a moment of reckoning.
Punk dismissed Rollins’ grievances, claiming he had no time for petty rivalries. However, Rollins escalated matters by shoving Punk, leading to a physical altercation. Sami Zayn and Jey Uso intervened to separate the two, but the chaos continued as Rollins verbally lashed out, accusing both Punk and Zayn of betrayal.
The tension shifted to Zayn and Rollins, where Rollins criticized Zayn for siding with Punk during War Games instead of aligning with him. Zayn defended his decision, citing Rollins’ refusal to team with him, which forced him to accept Punk’s help. Rollins countered by blaming Zayn’s gullibility for aligning with Punk and, indirectly, the Bloodline.
Zayn, frustrated with Rollins’ attacks, challenged him to a match later that night to settle the issue. Rollins accepted, promising to vent his anger on Zayn in the ring.

Big E spoke about his deep love for The New Day and recounted their struggles and triumphs over the years. He reminded them of the sacrifices they made for each other and vowed to support them as a manager until he could be medically cleared to compete. Despite his emotional plea, Woods and Kingston expressed their pain and frustration over Big E’s prolonged absence. They accused him of prioritizing other aspects of his life over their brotherhood, which had always been built on the philosophy of “we before me.”
The confrontation became increasingly heated as Woods and Kingston aired their grievances, questioning why Big E hadn’t returned sooner despite his injury and implying that he had abandoned them. Big E, visibly distraught, asked for a hug, unwilling to throw away their ten-year bond.
