At WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2024, Trick Williams put his NXT Championship on the line in a brutal Devil’s Playground match against Ethan Page. This no-holds-barred battle pushed both superstars to their limits with creative and punishing uses of weapons, steel steps, and even Halloween props, showcasing just how determined Williams is to keep his title.
Match Highlights:
Before the bell even rang, Page ambushed Williams, setting an aggressive tone by stomping Williams down and executing a Running Knee Strike. Page soon grabbed a steel chair, but Williams countered with chair shots of his own and even used a pumpkin to disorient Page, taking the fight to him with a Cyclone Boot for an early near-fall. The action spilled into the crowd, where both men exchanged blows with Williams hitting a Back Body Drop onto a trash can.
As they returned to the ring, Page wrapped a chair around Williams’ neck and brutally drove him into the steel post before hitting a DDT on the chair. Page controlled much of the middle of the match, landing a Sidewalk Slam and Iconoclasm for close calls, while Williams found a second wind, countering with Leg Lariats, a Flapjack, and his signature Trick Shot, nearly claiming the victory. Page responded by dumping thousands of nuts and bolts onto the mat, escalating the intensity even further.
In the final moments, Williams refused to stay down despite Page’s relentless assault, which included an Ego’s Edge through the announce table. Williams responded with a Book End on the steel steps and countered a low blow from Page before delivering a decisive Trick Shot, securing the pinfall victory.
After the match, Ridge Holland ambushed Williams, but Bubba Ray Dudley made a surprise appearance, saving the champion and fending off both Page and Holland to end the night on a high note.
