WWE’s classic Saturday Night’s Main Event is making a comeback! The live broadcast will air on NBC and simulcast on Peacock on December 14 at 8 p.m. ET, taking place at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, NY. This show will be WWE’s final Premium Live Event (PLE) of the year and promises exciting matchups with some of WWE’s top superstars.
The Legacy of Saturday Night’s Main Event
Originally premiering in 1985 on NBC, Saturday Night’s Main Event became a fan-favorite, bringing WWE to a prime-time audience until 1991. In 2006, WWE revived the event on NBCU, but it ended its run in 2008. Now, in 2024, WWE has decided to bring back this iconic event, which will cap off an action-packed season of WWE events following Crown Jewel on November 2 and Survivor Series later that month.
What to Expect on December 14
The December lineup for Saturday Night’s Main Event will feature intense battles between WWE’s biggest champions. Currently, WWE will host Crown Jewel PLE on November 2nd with the clash between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER for the Crown Jewel title. Fans are buzzing with excitement to see these two heavyweights go head-to-head.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter by Dave Meltzer, additional high-profile matches are being discussed for the show. Currently, there are plans for Rhodes to face Kevin Owens and for GUNTHER to take on Damian Priest. While these matchups are anticipated, they’re not yet set in stone, so stay tuned for official confirmation from WWE.
